Canteen ecosystem serving around 250 people a day

RFID payments, administration and sales statistics in one system — with simple controls that help more people take part in daily work.

Peter Hansen developed the complete software system for a canteen serving around 250 people daily. User interfaces, database and backend functions were built around the canteen’s own needs. The case shows how FDE5 Digital connects everyday operations with accessible tools and an overview for planning.

From RFID tag to sales statistics

The customer is identified by an RFID tag, products are registered and payment is deducted from their balance. The purchase is recorded in the transaction history and sales statistics at the same time, connecting payment and overview without additional registration.

Administration in one place

The system brings users, tags, balances, products and subscriptions together, alongside transaction history. This provides an operational overview and is designed to reduce manual administration.

Simple controls enable participation

The interface is designed so people with disabilities can help take payments and play an active role in the canteen’s daily work. Simple, clear operation is central to the solution.

Sales data for planning

Sales statistics show what is sold, how much and when. They make it easier to follow sales trends and plan purchases and the product range.

Development from interface to database

Peter developed both the user interfaces and the underlying database and functions. This is an end-to-end development case focused on easy operation, less manual work and enabling more people to participate.
